Whitt Memorial Award is given annually to the highest scoring individual at the local Grainger FFA soil judging competition. J.P. was a great supporter of the FFA for many years, and donated his time and equipment to dig the soil pits for over 30 years. Pictured above is Simon Newman, the 2011 winner, with J.P.'s son Wayne who continues to dig the pits each year. The winner receives a plaque and $100 check in J.P.'s honor.
